Accredited Operator Scheme (AOS)

The IPC’s Accredited Operator Scheme provides advice and support to its members. It is a scheme run for the private parking sector and members are able to gain conditional access to the DVLA Database of registered vehicle keepers under the terms of the IPC’s Accredited Trade Association (ATA) status thereby enabling them to enforce the parking charges that they impose.

All members of the scheme are required to comply with the IPC Code of Practice which contains the need for every site, sign and many documents to be audited by the IPC. Operators are permitted to use the main Uniti logo, the IPC logo, the Independent Appeals Service (IAS) logo and the IPC’s AOS logo. Use of the AOS logo confirms operators are conducting themselves in accordance with the Code of Practice. All Operators who issue parking charges must, as a condition of membership, afford motorists the ability of independent redress through the Independent Appeals Service.

Accredited Service Provider Scheme (ASP)

The IPC’s Accredited Service Provider scheme compliments the Accredited Operator Scheme. Members are also required to comply with the IPC Code of Practice and are audited to ensure their standard processes would not place themselves or operators who they serve in breach of the Code.

Operators using ASP members are able to rely upon their membership should there be any subsequent breach of the Code. Where a breach is due to the ASP member’s actions rather than their own, they can rely upon their service provider’s ASP membership to avoid referral to the IPC sanction scheme thereby providing them with peace of mind.

Service Providers are permitted to use the main Uniti logo, the IPC logo, the Independent Appeals Service (IAS) logo and the IPC’s ASP logo. Use of the ASP logo confirms service providers are conducting themselves in accordance with the Code of Practice.

Compliance Scheme members are not obliged to operate within the IPC’s Code of Practice, but do have their standard documentation audited to ensure compliance with the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
